School Carnival Games to Make – Ring Toss

make a ring toss game with wooden stakes
If you’re planning the school carnival, a youth group fundraiser or just a fun carnival-themed day for children & families, then you might enjoy these homemade carnival games with recycled packaging supplies and other recycled material.
Ring Toss
You can make a ring toss game using recycled materials. I found one cola bottle ring toss game, which looked good except I didn’t like the idea of giving kids a “prize” that was so unhealthy. I noticed at Costco that they were selling bottles of coke that had been packaged in Mexico, where they don’t use High Fructose Corn Syrup, so it’s a bit healthier, but still- liquid calories, it’s a bad thing.
anyways, so here’s my healthy ring toss carnival game - this one is best outdoors, where you have a lawn to set up on. Kids like the big rings and you can choose toy prizes instead of bottles of cola.
You’ll need:
* wooden stakes
*swimming pool “noodles” or tubes
Place the stakes in a pyramid into the ground, like the bowling pins but farther apart, like 2-3 feet apart.
Either use swimming pool tubes, or cut a “noodle” in half, and duct tape it around into a ring. this game is fun because the kids can toss them, roll them or hurl them wildly.
