Things to make with Branches and Twigs

So- you’re landscaping, and maybe inspired by all that wood. Mulching it is an option, composting it is an option, and so is art. Most of these projects work well indoors or out.

1- is it just me, or are these treehuggers just totally adorable? I think if I were crafting, I’d make a bunch of tree kids playing ring-around-the-roses with the tree in the center. If you click on the picture it takes you to the artist’s site, where you can see more treehuggers, aren’t they cute?

2- Artist Patrick Daughterty has created these amazing twig art installations all over the country- i urge you to go check out some of the amazing things he’s made from twigs. I think they’re birch.

3- This simple branch art looks beautiful as a wall hanging, and it’s so much cheaper than some fancy schmancy painting. It’s clean, and I just love it. I think it would look cool outside, hanging on the porch or patio. I just picture it embellishing a stucco wall.

4- This ribbon and branch art hanger looks like an adorable way to display greeting cards, photos or children’s artwork. With different ribbons or even small frames, this look can be really versatile.

5- This North Carolina home mas an adorable archway. it reminds me of the ones that local artisans build from the remains of the annual trimming-of-the-grapevines. In my area, we have a lot of branch art vendors at the farmer’s market selling things like this all summer long.

6- isn’t the birch mirror frame beautiful, I love how they used the white birch bark as a matting, and the clean solid lines are super cool, I can see this mirror hanging in a lot of places, it would make a great gift.
